6、formanceoforganizationalparticipantsisevaluated.Authorityisviewedasauthorizationtoattempttocon-trolthebehaviorofothers,andrestsinfourdifferentkindsofau-thorityrights,eachofwhichisacomponentoftheevaluationprocess.Authoritysystemsaredefinedintermsofthe
7、distributionoftheserightsamongparticipants.Thetheoryspecifiescertainproblemsintheevaluationprocess,whichmaketheauthoritysystemincompatiblewithparticipants'achievementofevaluationsacceptabletothem.Incompatibleau-thoritysystemsarepostulatedtobeunstable
