3、ternationalproduction,investment,andtrade(Dicken,1998;Renesch,1992).Itisapowerfulrealaspectofthenewworldsystem,anditrepresentsoneofthemostinfluentialforcesindeterminingthefuturecourseoftheglobe(Michie,2003)andinvolvestheintegrationofeconomiesandsocietiesaroundtheworldandaffectsdifferentreg
4、ions,countriesandareasandtheir16populations(Parker,1998). Integratingbusinessactivitiesacrossgeographicalandorganizationalboundaries,political,economicandculturalforcesandcompetitionbetweeninter-dependentregionalandlocalworldmarketswithcompetitiveadvantages,globalizationpertainstobethefre
5、edomtoconceive,design,buy,produce,distributeandsellproductsandservicesinamannerwhichoffersmaximumbenefittothefirmwithoutregardtotheconsequencesforindividualgeographiclocationsororganizationalunits.(Kirkbride,etal.,2001).Itisaprocesswhichstartsonthedomesticlevelwiththeformulationofworldecon
6、omicpolicyandimplementationstrategybeingrequiredtoformandadjustthenationaleconomicstructureaswellasinfrastructuretotheneedsandforthefunctioningoftheworldeconomy(Chase-Dunn,1999).Asarevolutionaryphenomenon,globalizationhasbeeninfluencedbydevelopmentsinsystemsoftelecommunicationandmoderntech
7、nology.Thelevelofworldtradeismuchhigherthaniteverwasbefore,anditinvolvesamuchwiderrangeofgoodsandservices(Igbaria,1999).Itbringsaboutbothbenefitsandriskssimultaneously. Muchoftheworld,especiallythepoorestcountries,hasbeenlargelyexcludedfromitsbenefits(Stiglit
