3、programmeconductedoverasix-monthperiodwithagroupoflearnersofESLinHuizhouUniversity.Theprogrammewasdesignedtoexaminewhetherquestion-answertechniqueisagoodmethodinthedevelopmentofsubjects’listeningandspeakingskills,withparticularreferencetospeaking.  Thee

4、xperimentbeganwiththehypothesisthattheexperimental6group,whichreceivedQuestionandAnswertreatment,woulddemonstrateasignificantimprovementinsubjects’listeningandspeakingabilitiesthanthecontrolgroupwhichreceivednormaltreatment.  2ExperimentalDesign  Before

5、theexperiment,theresearcherdesignedtensetsofquestionsasthetrainingseries,ofwhichtwowereusedforthepre-testandpost-test.Theothereightsetswerefortrainingtheexperimentalgroup.Eachsetofquestionconsistedofsixty-fivequestions,includingeasyanddifficultonesinthr

6、eelevels.InLevelI,therewerefortyeasyquestionswhichrequiredquickresponseswithoutasecondthought,suchas‘Areyouastudent?’‘Howmanystudentsarethereinyourclass?’Eachanswerrequiredonecorrectsentence,whichwasworthonepoint.InLevelII,thereweretwentyquestionswhichr

7、equiredremembranceandknowledge,suchas‘WhenistheLibertyDayoftheUnitedStates?’Eachanswerrequiredonecorrectsentence,worthonepoint.InLevelIII,therewerefivequestionswhichrequiredthought,suchas‘Howtoprotectourenvironment?’‘Whydopeoplecontrolbirthrate?’Eachans
