3、addition,withitsexcellentroadandrailsystems,itsabundanceoftop-ratedaccommodations,anditsbountifulfarmlandsandvineyards,SouthAfricaallowsvisitorsampleopportunityformoreluxuriouscomfortalongwithadventuresomeexcitement.Location,Geography,&ClimateSouthAfricaislocated,asonemightexpect
4、,onthesoutherntipofAfrica.ItisborderedbytheAtlanticOceanonthewest,theIndianOceanonthesouthandeast.Alongitsnorthernborder,fromwesttoeast,lieNamibia,Botswana,andZimbabwe,andtothenortheastareMozambiqueandSwaziland.Wholly-enclosedbySouthAfrica,andsituatedinitseasterncentralplain,isth
5、eindependentkingdomofLesotho.AlmostallofSouthAfrica's472,000squaremiles(1.2millionsq.km.)liebelowtheTropicofCapricorn,andthecountryisgeographicallycomposedofthreeprimaryregions:anexpansivecentralplateau,anearlycontinuousescarpmentofmountainrangesthatringtheplateauonthewest,south,
6、andeast,andanarrowstripoflow-lyinglandalongthecoast.Mostofthecentralplateau(andmostofthecountry)consistsofhigh(4,000-6,000ft/1,220-1,830m),rollinggrasslandknownashighveld.ThehighestpointsofthemountainousescarpmentarefoundinthestunningDrakensberg(dragon'sback)Mountains,wherethetip
