2、chanismandMemoryTraininginInterpretingABSTRACTMemoryisoneofthefundamentalelementsinsuccessfulinterpreting,exertinggreatinfluencequality.Thisthesisaimstoexplorememorymechanismininterpretinganddeviseacomprehensivememorytrainingparadigm.Thisthesisattemptstoan
3、alyzethreehumanmemorysystems,andhowtheyarerelatedtointerpreting,aswellasfactorsaffectingmemoryininterpreting.Firstly,theoreticalresearchrevealsthathumanmemorymechanismiscomposedofthethreememorysystems,namely,sensorymemory,short-termmemory,andlong-termmemor
4、y.Thesethreememorysystemsarealsothoughtofasstagesinthesequenceofprocessinginformation.Memoriesthatgetintolong-termstoragehavepassedthroughsensoryandshort-termstagesfirst.Theydistinguishfromeachotherintermsoftheamountanddurationofinformationretention,aswell
5、asthemannerofinformationprocessing.Workingmemoryhasbeenfoundtorequiresimultaneousstoragesandprocessingofinformation.Theworkingmemorycapacityisofgreatimportancetosuccessfulinterpreting.Secondly,memoryininterpretingisinnaturetomemorizethesenseofthesourcelang
6、uagespeech,andthekeywordsinitarebasedonagoodcomprehensionofthesourcelanguage.Memoryininterpretingencompassesthebasicprocessesofencoding,storageandretrieval.Thirdly,theprimaryfactorsaffectingmemoryininterpretingareknownasattention,comprehension,forgettingan
