2、raininginInterpretingABSTRACTMemoryisoneofthefundamentalelementsinsuccessfulinterpreting,exertinggreatinfluencequality.Thisthesisaimstoexplorememorymechanismininterpretinganddeviseacomprehensivememorytrainingparadigm.Thisthesisattemptstoanalyzethreehumanmemorysystems,andho
3、wtheyarerelatedtointerpreting,aswellasfactorsaffectingmemoryininterpreting.Firstly,theoreticalresearchrevealsthathumanmemorymechanismiscomposedofthethreememorysystems,namely,sensorymemory,short-termmemory,andlong-termmemory.Thesethreememorysystemsarealsothoughtofasstagesin
4、thesequenceofprocessinginformation.Memoriesthatgetintolong-termstoragehavepassedthroughsensoryandshort-termstagesfirst.Theydistinguishfromeachotherintermsoftheamountanddurationofinformationretention,aswellasthemannerofinformationprocessing.Workingmemoryhasbeenfoundtorequir
5、esimultaneousstoragesandprocessingofinformation.Theworkingmemorycapacityisofgreatimportancetosuccessfulinterpreting.Secondly,memoryininterpretingisinnaturetomemorizethesenseofthesourcelanguagespeech,andthekeywordsinitarebasedonagoodcomprehensionofthesourcelanguage.Memoryin
6、interpretingencompassesthebasicprocessesofencoding,storageandretrieval.Thirdly,theprimaryfactorsaffectingmemoryininterpretingareknownasattention,comprehension,forgettingandnote-taking.Theelaborationofmemorymechanismininterpretinglaysatheoreticalfoundationforfurtherexpoundi
