4、imization;Radiators1.IntroductionRadiatorsarethemostpopularcentral-heatingemitters.Astheradiatorishotterthantheairsurroundingit,acertainamountofheatistransferredtotheairandthusthewaterexistsatalowertemperature.Ofthevariousdesignsavailableusuallyequippedwithconvectionfi
5、nstoimprovetheirheatoutput,arecommonindomestic,businessandindustrialenvironments.Theuseofcentral-heatingradiatorsisthemainformofdomesticheatinginthehomes.Althoughradiatorsareknownasradiator,mostoftheiroutputisbynaturalconvection.Sincetheaveragesurfacetemperatureofacent
6、ral-heatingradiatorisgenerallylessthan80 °C,thecontributionofradiativetransfertothetotalheattransferissmallerthanthatofthenaturalconvectionheattransfer.Becauseofthelowsurfacetemperatures,radiationheattransfertermintheenergybalanceequationscanbelinearizedinthethermalana
7、lysisofsucharadiator.Inthepresentpaper,assumingthatthepredominantmodesofheattransferareconductionandconvection,andtheeffectoftheradiationisignored,anapproximatemathematicalmodelisconstructedforfindingtemperaturedistributionandheattransferrate.Thedesignandoptimizationof
8、theseradiatorsorfinsandfinassembliesaregenerallybasedontwoapproachesand:oneistominimizethevolumeormassforagivenamount
