1、AbstractTranslationisacommunicativeprocesswhiChtakesplaceinasocialcontext．Aftertheemergenceoflinguisticandculturaltranslationstudies，thepragmaticsturnbecomesthemaintrendinresearch，andpragmatics，thestudyoflanguageuseandfunctions，isappliedtotranslation．Thoughitisimpossibletoachieveabsolute

2、equivalenceinalllevelsoflanguageintranslation，effectivetranslationcanbeproducedduetothepracticalityofthefulfillmentofcommunicativegoals．Verbalsignsconsistofthreelevels：form，content，andfunction．Whenformalequivalence，semanticequivalenceandpragmaticequivalencecannotberetainedsimultaneously,

3、thetranslatorneedsaprincipletohelphimdecidewhichequivalenceshouldbegivenpriorityinordertoproduceacommunicativelyeffectivetranslation．Formaltranslationandsemantictranslationtreatlanguageasastaticsystemwithoutconsideringextralinguisticfactors，andoftenleadtoawkwardandambiguousrenderingsthat

4、betraythewriter’Sintention．Pragmatictranslation，however,couldgraspthedynamiclanguagesystemasawholefromvariablecontexts，asitallowshumansintoanalysis．Therefore，pragmatictranslationshouldtakepriorityoverformaltranslationandsemantictranslationandpragmaticfactorsshouldbeconsideredbytranslator

5、sbeforetheydecidewhatcriteriatofollow,whatstrategytotake，orwhatapproachestoemploy．Accordingtopragmaticapproachoftranslation，factorsoutsidelanguageitselfinfluencetheinterpretationandexpressionofmeaningtoagreatextent．Inordertoproduceeffectivetranslationstofulfillthecommunicativegoalsindiff

6、erentcircumstances，thetranslatorhastoconsidermacroscopicfactorssuchasculturalconsiderations，thesourcetext，requirementoftheinitiator,motivationofthetranslatorandreadership．Inaddition，inordertOinterpretthesourcetextcorrectlyandreproduceitinthetargetlanguageappropriately,thetranslatorhastoe
