4、thisbackground,theEnglishtranslationofMaiJia’sJiemi,Decoded:ANovel,stoodoutamongtherestduetoitscommunicationsuccessintheEnglish-speakingworld.Itnotonlyhitagroundbreakingsalesrecord,butalsowonacclaimsfromcriticsandreadersalike.Atpresent,studieshavebeenmadeonitscommunicationmode
5、landtranslatedtext,butnoneconsideredthecommunicationprocessofDecoded:ANovelasacompletesystemconsistingofinterrelatedelements.TofillinthesegapsandprovidereferencefortheexportofChineseliterature,thisstudywasconductedwithintheframeworkofLasswell’s5W,namelycommunicator,media,conte
6、nt,audienceandeffects.Textualcomparisonofthetranslationanditsoriginalwasappliedinthecommunicationcontentanalysistosummarizethetranslationstrategyandmethodsusedbytranslators.Contentanalysisanddocumentanalysiswereborrowedfromcommunicationstudiestoconductanalysesoncommunicationef
7、fects,audience,communicatorandmedia.TheresultsshowthatDecodedhasachievedafavorableeffect.Bothcriticsandmassreadersrecognizeditsliteraryvalueandtranslationqualityingeneral.Thepoliticselementsanditsgenreasaspythrillermetuptoreaders’expectations.However,themarketingplanmisguidedt
