4、ents’readingabilities.InChina,thereexistsacommonproblemtoourstudents,thatis,althoughmanystudentshaveacquiredfourskills:listening,speaking,readingandwritingaccordingtothedemandofourtraditionalsyllabus,theyoftenmakemistakesinapplicationoflanguageinreallife.Eventheycanmakeupgrammaticallyandseman
5、ticallycorrectsentences,whicharenotappropriateorfeasibleinthedailycommunication;what’sworse,sometimesitwillviolateculturalprincipleinthetargetlanguagecommunity,andthuscommunicativefailureoccursattimes.ThereasonisthatmodernEnglishteachersoftenignoreculturalteachingandspendalotoftimeinEnglishla
6、nguageteaching.II.TheproblemsexistinginEnglishreadinginMiddleSchoolManystudentsseemtohavenotroubleatalllearningtoread.Evenwhenveryyoung,theybeginmakingconnectionsbetweenlettersandsounds,soundsandwords,wordsandthoughts.Forthesestudents,theprocessofreadingseemssimpleandnatural.Forotherstudents,
