2、oftouristwell-beingachievedbyindividualtouristsweevaluateindirectlythecompetitiveabilityofthetouristareatoofferacompoundtouristsiteattractiveness.Themethodologyemployedhereusesindividualsurveyquestionnairesonthetourists'evaluationofthequalityoftouristfacilitiesand

3、attributesinagivenarea(the‘regionaltouristprofile’)asthebasisforconstructinganaggregateexpressionfortherelativeattractivenessofthatarea.UsingvariousmultidimensionalstatisticaltechniquesanestimationofthecompetitiveattractivenessoftheSouthernregionsinItalyispursued.

4、WealsocompareourfindingswithquantitativeresultsontouristcompetitivenessvaluesobtainedinarelatedpreviousstudyontouristcompetitivenessinItalianregions.Finally,thepaperhighlightstheneedtousemicroandmacrodatatoanalysetouristattractivenessandtoidentifypoliciesforimprov
