3、aleffluents(Halsalletal1994and2000;Drretal1996)andexistmainlyinthevaporphase.Therefore,theyhaveatmosphericlifetimesthatarerelativelyshort,ontheorderofhoursordays(Brubakeretal1998;Atkinsonetal1994).IfthemajorsourceofPAHsinurbanairisanthropogenicemission,on

4、emightassumethattheatmosphericPAHlevelsanpopulation(Hafneretal2005).　　VariousresearcheffortshavenotedsucharelationshipbetanpopulationsandatmosphericconcentrationsofPAHs(Dannetal1998;Hafneretal2005;Prevedourosetal2004).Forinstance,aUSgroupfoundthatthereits)

5、betosphericPAHcontentsandhumanpopulationsforallcontinentalsites(Hafneretal2005).InFrance,fiftyeightplesofatmosphericbulkdeposition(dryandirural,ruralandforestsitesoverayear(Garbanetal2002).TheresultsrevealthatmeanPAHconcentrationsdecreasedbytplingsiteloc

6、atedabout50kmfarfromParis.AnotherUSstudydiscoveredhigherconcentrationsofphenanthrene,anthracene,floranthene,pyrene,benzo(a)anthraceneandchryseneinspruceneedlestakenfrommonitoringsitesadjacenttothecityofFairbanksthansamplestakenfrommoreruralareas(Hoptiontha
