10、Internetapplications,requiringre-developmentandre-deploymentprojects.Secondly,high-levelsecurityservicessuchasauthorisationarenotprovidedbysecuretransportprotocols,requiringapplicationstorelyoncustomised(andofteninsecure)mechanismsfortheprovisionofsuchservices.Weproposeaplatform-i

11、ndependentsystemthatusesproxyapplicationstoprovidebothsecuretransportandauthorisationservicestransparentlytoexistingInternetapplications.Wedemonstratethatourapproachrequiresnomodificationtoexistingapplications,andthatoursecurityservicesarebasedonexistingandwidelyusedtechnologies.W
