2、rizesthedevelopmentsandeventsfromlate2006throughearly2010thatareshapinglibraryrolesinscientificdatacurationwhileunderscoringtherange,complexity,andvaryinggranularityofsystems,actions,andeffortsinvolved.Themainconclusionsare:(1)leadersofmajorresearchlibrarieshavecommittedtheirinstitutionstosupportd
3、atacuration.(2)Thelibraryprofessionhasdemonstratedsignificantconceptualprogressincharacterizingandunderstandingdatacurationbothintheoryandinpractice.(3)Therehasbeenprogresssince2006inlegitimizinglibraryrolesindatacurationthroughformaleducationandcertificationprogramsaswellasbyintegratingdatacurati
4、onintoestablishedlibraryservicesandsystems.Certainquestionsremainunresolved:howwilldatataxonomiesorontology,schemasordatamodelsandtheirdatabasesfitintodatacurationpractices?Librarians,however,candrawonagrowingbodyofexperienceandthesupportofacommunityofpracticeastheycontributetodatacuration,whilere
