2、hipbetweenserumcopper,proteinthiolsandlipidprofileparameters.Methods:Thestudygroupconsistedof26newlydiagnosedhyperlipidemicpatientsnotassociatedwithanyothersystemicdiseasesand26ageandsexmatchedhealthycontrols.Fastinglipidprofilewasdonebyenzymaticmethodusingauto
3、matedanalyzer.Serumcopperandproteinthiolsweremeasuredspectrophotometrically.Results:Serumcopperandprotein¨CSHlevelsweresignificantlydecreasedincases(P<0.01,P<0.01)comparedtocontrols.Serumcoppercorrelatedpositivelywithproteinthiols(r=0.800,P<0.01)andneg
4、ativelywithLDLcholesterol(r=-0.351P<0.05).Conclusion:Serumcopperandproteinthiolsweredecreasedinhyperlipidemiaandtheycorrelatedpositivelyindicatingprotectiveroleofcopperinpreventing10homocysteinylationofproteinandhenceinpreventingatherosclerosis.¡¾¹Ø¼ü´Ê¡¿Hyp
