1、OralanddentalhealthstatusofelderlyinsouthandwestJakarta,Indonesia¡¾ÕªÒª¡¿Objective:Toknowelderlyoralanddentalhealthstatus.Methods:Thepopulation(n=202)waselderlyfromGovernmentHealthCenterinSouthandWestJakarta.Oralanddentalhealthexaminationbasedonoralhygieneindexsimplified(OHIª²S),deca
2、y,missing,fillingteeth(DMFT)index,thepresenceofperiodontalandoralmucouslesions,masticationfunctionthatwasconsideredbyanamnesis,mobilityandnumberlostofmaxillaryteeth,andocclusioncontact.Results:Mostrespondentshadcarieslesions(84%),dentureprosthesisneeds(97%),periodontallesions(79%),ma
3、sticationdysfunction(51%),sublingualvaricosities(52%),andasmallnumberoforalmucousdenturerelatedlesions.Conclusion:Manycasesneededpromotion,curative,andrehabilitativetreatments;thereforeitwassuggestedtoencourageoralanddentalhealthcareeducationasapartofgeneralhealthcarepromotiontoincre

5、stedthatthereisalmost500millionselderlywiththeageupto60yearsthroughouttheworld.InIndonesiaattheyearof2000,theelderlybecomes22.2millions.WorldHealthOrganization(WHO)statedthataroundtheyearof2020,among1000millionsofelderlyintheworld,710millionsscatteredatdevelopingcountries[1].¡¡¡¡Thel
6、ifeexpectancyinIndonesiawillbeincreaseto65years[2].IndonesianSocialDepartmentstatementin1998revealedthatpeoplewhoseageupto60willbecategorizedaselderly.ThedataofRegionalOfficeIndonesianHealthDepartmentshowedthatamongthetotalamountofpopulationover65years(239.100)inJakarta,109.886isinSo
