2、,India.Methods:Serumlevelofbilirubin(totalanddirect),serumglutamateoxaloacetatetransaminase(SGOT),serumglutamatepyruvatetransaminase(SGPT)andalkalinephosphatase(ALP)weremeasuredamongtheadultmenandwomenfromaSouthIndiandistrict.Standardmethodologieswereadopted

3、duringselectionofstudyparticipantsandcollectionandanalysisofbloodsamples.Results:Itisobservedthatthereisnodifferenceinthelevelsofbilirubin(totalanddirect)andALPinmaleandfemalepatients.ItisobservedthattherearesignificantdifferencesinthelevelsofSGOTandSGPT.Mal

4、esrecordedhigherlevelsthanfemales.Conclusion:Aconsiderablenumberofpatientsshowedincreasedlevelsoftotalanddirectbilirubin,SGOT,SGPYandALP.ThehigherlevelsofSGOTandSGPTamongmalesmightbeduetotheiralcoholichabitsandamongmen10inthiscommunity.Theoverallliverfunctio
