5、rdrugswithshortbiologicalhalf-livesbecausetheymustbetakenmorefrequently.Onemethodtosolvesuchproblemsistofindadosageformcapableofreleasingthedruggradually.Variouspolymershavebeenutilizedforthedevelopmentofslowdrugreleasedosageforms.Swellablepolymers,hydrophobicpolymers,etc.areusedfrequentlyasma
6、terialsofmatricesorcoatingmembranesofslowreleasedosageforms.Glipizideisasecondgenerationsulfonylureacommonlyusedasanantidiabeticdruginthetreatmentoftype-IIdiabetesmellitus.Thedosevariesfrom5mgto40mgdailyindivideddoseforimmediatereleasetabletswhileforsustainedreleasetabletsitis10mgtwicedaily.Gl
