4、ishashappenedwithinthespaceofafewmonths.Retailchainsdominatetheconsumerelectronicslandscape:ahandfuloftheseplayerscontrolasmuchas40percentofsalesinfirst-tiercitieslikeShanghaiandBeijing.Theydominateevenmoreinsomeproductcategories:thenewgiantforgedfromthe
5、imminentmergerofGomeandChinaParadisewillcontrol60to70percentofTVsalesinShanghai.Unlessconsumerelectronicsplayers-whetherChineseorforeign—rethinktheirstrategy,theyrisklosingthebattleforthewalletsofmillionsofmainlandconsumers.Alotisatstake:themainland'scon
