2、mustbebornasocietyofwhichallhumanitywillbeproud. OurdailydeedsasordinarySouthAfricansmustproduceanactualSouthAfricanrealitythatwillreinforcehumanity'sbeliefinjustice,strengthenitsconfidenceinthenobilityofthehumansoulandsustainallourhopesforagloriouslifeforall. Allthisweowebothtoours
3、elvesandtothepeoplesoftheworldwhoaresowellrepresentedheretoday. Tomycompatriots,IhavenohesitationinsayingthateachoneofusisasintimatelyattachedtothesoilofthisbeautifulcountryasarethefamousjacarandatreesofPretoriaandthemimosatreesofthebushveld. Eachtimeoneofustouchesthesoilofthisland,wefe
4、elasenseofpersonalrenewal.Thenationalmoodchangesastheseasonschange. Wearemovedbyasenseofjoyandexhilarationwhenthegrassturnsgreenandtheflowersbloom. Thatspiritualandphysicalonenessweallsharewiththiscommonhomelandexplainsthedepthofthepainweallcarriedinourheartsaswesawourcountrytearitselfa
5、partinaterribleconflict,andaswesawitspurned,outlawedandisolatedbythepeoplesoftheworld,preciselybecauseithasbecometheuniversalbaseoftheperniciousideologyandpracticeofracismandracialoppression. We,thepeopleofSouthAfrica,feelfulfilledthathumanityhastakenusbackintoitsbosom,thatwe,whowereoutl
6、awsnotsolongago,havetodaybeengiventherareprivilegetobehosttothenationsoftheworldonourownsoil. Wethankallourdistinguishedinternationalguestsforhavingcometotakepossessionwiththepeopleofourcountryofwhatis,afterall,acommonvictoryforjustice,forpeace,forhumandignity. Wetrustthatyouwillcontinu
