4、ainability,environmentalimpacts,framework,climate.1.IntroductionThereisanapparentlyunboundedrangeofpossibilitiesfortheselectionofbuildingmaterialsfortheconstructionofstructuresofalmostanyshapeorstature.Itsqualitywillaffectthestructurefunctionandlonglife,andrequirementsmaydiffer
5、withclimate,soil,sitesize,andwiththeexperienceandknowledgeofthedesigner.Thefactorsthathavethemostoutstandingsolutionsareimpermeability,controlofheat,air,andwaterflow,andthestabilityofthestructure[1-3].Rawmaterialsextraction,manufacturingprocesses,andthetransportationofthemateri
6、alstotheprojectsitehaveamultitudeofimpactsontheenvironment.Theseincludethedisruptionofhabitatsandecologicalsystems,useofwater,and,throughenergyuse,theemissionsofairpollutantsandclimatechangegases.Buildingmaterialsalsohavemajorimpactsonthebuildingoccupantsmanufacture,constructio
7、nofbuildingsandtheuseofbuildingmaterialsmakeasignificantenvironmentalimpactinternally,locallyandglobally.Butitisnoteasytodeliverinformationtomakeadequateinclusiondecisionsconsideringthewholelifecycleofabuilding.Decisionsonsustainablebuildingintegrateanumberofstrategiesduringthe
