4、Thereisanapparentlyunboundedrangeofpossibilitiesfortheselectionofbuildingmaterialsfortheconstructionofstructuresofalmostanyshapeorstature.Itsqualitywillaffectthestructurefunctionandlonglife,andrequirementsmaydifferwithclimate,soil,sitesize,andwiththeexperienceandknowledge
5、ofthedesigner.Thefactorsthathavethemostoutstandingsolutionsareimpermeability,controlofheat,air,andwaterflow,andthestabilityofthestructure[1-3].Rawmaterialsextraction,manufacturingprocesses,andthetransportationofthematerialstotheprojectsitehaveamultitudeofimpactsontheenvir
6、onment.Theseincludethedisruptionofhabitatsandecologicalsystems,useofwater,and,throughenergyuse,theemissionsofairpollutantsandclimatechangegases.Buildingmaterialsalsohavemajorimpactsonthebuildingoccupantsmanufacture,constructionofbuildingsandtheuseofbuildingmaterialsmakeas
7、ignificantenvironmentalimpactinternally,locallyandglobally.Butitisnoteasytodeliverinformationtomakeadequateinclusiondecisionsconsideringthewholelifecycleofabuilding.Decisionsonsustainablebuildingintegrateanumberofstrategiesduringthedesign,constructionandoperationofbuildin
