2、atimetobesilent,lestwecastpearlsbeforeswine;andthereisatimetospeakopenly,lestwebefoundguiltyofcowardlynotconfessing.ThePsalmisevidentlyofaDavidiccharacter,exhibitingallthefidelity,courage,anddecisionofthatKingofIsraelandPrinceofPsalmists.Ofcoursethecriticshavetriedtorendtheauthorsh
3、ipfromDavidonaccountofthementionofthetemple,thoughitsohappensthatinoneofthePsalmswhichisallowedtobeDavid'sthesamewordoccurs.ManymoderncriticsaretothewordofGodwhatblowfliesaretothefoodofmen:theycannotdoanygood,andunlessrelentlesslydrivenawaytheydogreatharm.DIVISION.InfullconfidenceD

5、andpreservehimfromallthemaliceofwrathfulfoes.EXPOSITION.Ver.1.Iwillpraisetheewithmywholeheart.HismindissotakenupwithGodthathedoesnotmentionhisname:tohimthereisnootherGod,andJehovahissoperfectlyrealizedandsointimatelyknown,thatthePsalmist,inaddressinghim,nomorethinksofmentioninghisn
6、amethanweshoulddoifwewerespeakingtoafatherorafriend.HeseesGodwithhismind'seye,andsimplyaddresseshimwiththepronoun"thee."HeisresolvedtopraisetheLord,andtodoitwiththewholeforceofhislife,evenwithhiswholeheart.Hewouldnotsubmittoactasoneunderrestraint,becauseoftheopinionsofothers;butint
