2、irus(BCoV)andrelatedviruses,bindingtocellsurfacecomponentscon-Coronavirusesareadiversegroupofvirusesthatinfectdif-tainingN-acetyl-9-O-acetylneuraminicacidisessentialforferentmammalianandavianspecies.Theymostoftenaffectinitiationofaninfection.Thesevirusesresembleinfluenzatherespiratoryorintest

3、inaltract,butsomerepresentativesCvirusesbecausetheysharenotonlythereceptordetermi-mayalsoinfectothertissuesororgans.Coronavirusesarenant,butalsothepresenceofanacetylesterasethatreleasesclassifiedwithinthefamilyCoronaviridae,whichbelongsthe9-O-acetylgroupfromsialicacidandthusabolishesthetotheo

4、rderNidovirales.Thefamilyofcoronavirusescom-abilityoftherespectivesialoglycoconjugatetofunctionasprisestwogenera:CoronavirusandTorovirus.OurreviewareceptorforBCoV.Asinthecaseofinfluenzaviruses,willfocusonmembersofthegenusCoronavirus.Basedonthereceptor-destroyingenzymeofBCoVisbelievedtofa-anti
