2、ems.Thedesigntakesasinputtheadministratorsperformanceobjectives,whichcanbeadjustedatrun-time.Basedontheseobjectives,thedesigntakesthenecessaryactionstoachievethemanditdynamicallyadaptstochangingnetworkingcondi-tions.Itdoessobyperiodicallysolvingalinearopti
3、mizationproblemthatcomputesanewconfigurationfortheSMSsystem.WehaveevaluatedthedesignthroughextensivesimulationsinvariousscenariosusingtracesfromaproductionSMSsystem.Ithasprovedeffectiveinachievingtheadministratorsperformanceobjectives,andefficientintermsofco
4、mputationalcost.Ourexperimentsalsoshowthatthedesignisadaptive,i.e.,iteffectivelyadaptsthesystemssconfigurationtochangesinthenetworkingconditions,inordertocontinuouslymeettheperfor-manceobjectives.Finally,thefeasibilityofourdesignisprovedthroughthedevelopmen
