3、ousamplitudes.Thediepressureandpowerconsumptionduetoultrasoundweremeasuredatdifferentfeedratesofnanocompositesofvariousclayconcentrations.ThestructureandmorphologyofnanocompositeswerestudiedbyX-raydiffraction(XRD),transmissionelectronmicroscopy(TEM)andinfraredspectroscopy.Itwasfoundthatult
4、rasonictreatmentenhancedtheintercalationofHDPEintolatticelayersofclaybyincreasingd-spacingupto50%.Mechanicalandrheologicalpropertiesofthesenanocompositeswereinvestigatedasafunctionofclayconcentrationandultrasonicamplitude.Complexviscosity,storageandlossmoduliofnanocompositeswereincreasedaf
5、terultrasonictreatment.Mechanicalpropertiessuchastheelongationatbreak,yieldstress,toughnessandimpactstrengthofultrasonicallytreatednanocompositesincreasedincomparisonwiththeuntreatednanocomposites.Areductioninoxygenpermeabilityofnanocompositeswasobservedafterultrasonictreatmentatanamplitud
