4、crease,anincreasewhichseemstobecontinuingunabatedinpresent-dayEnglish,whichmakesitallthemoreimportantthatweshouldtrytounderstandtheuseandmeaningofthisverbform.Tofurtherthatunderstandingitmaybehelpfultostudythehistoricaldevelopmentoftheprogressive:howitcametobewhatitis.40
