2、nelectricpowersystemsispresented.ThepaperisThissectionexplainsbrieflythebasicconfigurationofSVCsbasedonanalyticalandsimulationanalysis,andconclusionscanandSTATCOMs:beusedaspowerindustryguidelines.WeexplaintheprinciplestructuresofSVCsandSTATCOMs,A.SVCthemodelsfordynamicstudies,andtheimpact
3、ofthesedevicesonFig.1showsaschematicdiagramofastaticvarsteadystatevoltageandtransientvoltagestability.SensitivityanalysisisprovidedwhichshowstheimpactofSVCsandcompensator.Thecompensatornormallyincludesathyristor-STATCOMswithregardtonetworkstrength.Harmonicissues,controlledreactor(TCR),thy
4、ristor-switchedcapacitors(TSCs)spacerequirements,andpricediscussionsarealsobrieflyandharmonicfilters.Itmightalsoincludemechanicallyaddressed.switchedshuntcapacitors(MSCs),andthenthetermstaticvarsystemisused.Theharmonicfilters(fortheTCR-producedIndexTerms—DynamicCompensators,SVC,STATCOM,ha
