3、solatedfromturkeysslaughteredinIzmir,Turkey.Itwasidentifiedbyclassicaltechniquesandpolymerasechainreaction(PCR),Itsantimicrobialsusceptibilitywasdetermined,andthecommonresistancegenesinantibiotic-resistantstrainsweredemonstratedbyPCR.Ofthe587cloacalswabs,86(14.7%)wereSalmonellapositiveandoft
4、hese,11(1.9%)wereserovarenteritidis.AntimicrobialsusceptibilitiesweretestedbyagardilutionMICs.Allstrainsweresusceptibletocefoxitin,ciprofloxacinandamikacin.Ofthe11strainstested9(81.8%),6(54.6%),6(54.6%),and3(27.3%)weresusceptibletogentamicin,ampicillin,chloramphenicol,andtetracyclinerespecti
5、vely.Among11S.enteritidisisolates2weresusceptibletoallantimicrobialstested,and7strainsweremulti-drugresistant.Of8tetracyclineresistantstrains,5and3carriedtet(A),tet(B)genes,respectively.Of5ampicillinresistantstrains,3hadblaTEM,and2hadblaOXA.Of5chloramphenicol-resistantstrainsonehadcat3,3hadf
6、loR,andknownresistancegeneswerenegativebyPCRinoneresistantstrain.Ofthe2gentamicin-resistantstrains,onehadaadB,andonehadaacCgenes.ThisstudyverifiedthepresenceofS.enteritidisamongturkeyflocksinIzmir.Antibacterialresistanceamongisolatedstrainswasrelativelyhigh.Furthersurveysarenecessarytodetect
