3、edatafromtheNCE4,whichinclude10texts,altogether2659wordsandthenreviewsHallidayandHasan’scohesiontheory.Consequently,thewritercalculatedthefrequencyofeachgrammaticalcohesivedeviceinthesetentexts.Allisdonemanually,sotheresultswouldbepersuasive.Fourthly,thewriterputsomefrequenciesintota
4、blestomaketheyaremoreclearlytobeseen.Finally,thewriterdescribesandanalyzesthecollecteddatasoastoexplainthedistributionsofgrammaticalcohesive7devicesandtheirfunctionsintheselectedtexts.TheresultscanbeservedastheuniversalfeaturesofNCE4,andevenofallEnglishtextbooks. 2.Grammaticalcohesi
