3、ialinlanguagedefinition.“Languageisasystemofarbitraryvocalsymbolsusedforhumancommunication”(Wardhaugh,citedinWangQiang,2000).Viewsonlanguagedirectlydecideonwhattolearnandhowtolearn.Languagelearningisacomplexandpainstakingtaskwhichinvolvesallkindsoflearning.“Languagelearningreferstoconsciousknowl
4、edgeofasecondlanguage,knowingtherules,beingawareofthemandbeingabletotalkaboutthemanditusuallytakesplaceinthelanguageclassroom(Krashen,1981).Soitisnoteasytolearnaforeignlanguage.Theteachershouldnotonlymakehisstudentsunderstandthelanguage,namelythepronunciation,vocabulary,grammar,etc,heshouldalsos
5、timulatethestudent’sinterestinlearningEnglishandhelpdeveloptheircompetencesothattheycanusethelanguagecorrectly,appropriatelyandexpressivelyinrealsituations.SoKrashen(1981)suggeststhataneffectivelanguageteacherissomeonewhocanprovideinputandhelpmakeitcomprehensibleandinterestinginalowanxietysituat
6、ion.Inrecentyears,theperceptionsoftheteacher’srolehavechangedconsiderablyandtherequirementforteacherisalsohigherthanbefore.Apartfromprocessingacomprehensiveknowledgeofthelanguageandsometeachingmethodsandtechniques,alanguageteachershouldalsoknowhowtomakehisclassartisticandinteresting.Teachingisas
