4、lwarming,whichrequireeffectivecountermeasures.Variousdevelopmentsarebeingmadetoreducetheseemissions,butnofurtherlargeimprovementscanbeexpectedfrommerelyimprovingthecurrentenginesandtransmissions.Thus,greatexpectationsarebeingplacedonthedevelopmentofelectric,hybridand

5、naturalgas-drivenvehicles.Judgingfromcurrentlyapplicabletechnologies,andthecurrentlyinstalledinfrastructureofgasolinestations,inspectionandservicefacilities,thehybridvehicle,drivenbythecombinationofgasolineengineandelectricmotor,isconsideredtobeoneofthemostrealistics

6、olutions.Generallyspeaking,hybridsystemsareclassifiedasseriesorparallelsystems.AtToyota,wehavedevelopedtheToyotaHybridSystem(hereinafterreferredtoastheTHS)bycombiningtheadvantagesofbothsystems.InthissensetheTHScouldbeclassifiedasaparallel-seriestypeofsystem.SincetheT
