3、(NTS)oftherat.ItwashypothesizedthattheactivationofCRF2RsinthemedialNTS(mNTS)mayplayaroleincardiovascularregulation.Thishypothesiswastestedinurethane-anesthetized,artificiallyventilated,adultmaleWistarrats.Microinjections(100nl)ofUcn3(0.03,0.06,0.12,and0.25
4、mM)intothemNTSofanesthetizedratseliciteddecreasesinmeanarterialpressure(MAP:5.0+/-1.0,21.6+/-2.6,20.0+/-2.8,and12.7+/-3.4mmHg,respectively)andheartrate(HR:7.8+/-2.6,46.2+/-9.3,34.5+/-8.4,and16.6+/-4.9beats/min,respectively).Microinjectionsofartificialcereb
5、rospinalfluid(100nl)intothemNTSdidnotelicitcardiovascularresponses.MaximumdecreasesinMAPandHRwereelicitedby0.06mMconcentrationofUcn3.CardiovascularresponsestoUcn3weresimilarinunanesthetizedmidcolliculardecerebraterats.AbilateralvagotomycompletelyabolishedU
6、cn3-inducedbradycardia.ThedecreasesinMAPandHRelicitedbyUcn3(0.06mM)werecompletelyblockedbyastressin(1mM;nonselectiveCRFRantagonist)andK41498(5mM;selectiveCRF2Rantagonist).MicroinjectionsofUcn3(0.06mM)intothemNTSdecreasedtheefferentgreatersplanchnicnerveact
