3、lityofparticlesattheliquidssurfacetoescapeintothevaporphase.Whenweaddasolutetoapuresolventsomeofthespacesatthesurfaceoftheliquidwillbeoccupiedbythenonvolatilesolute.Sincesomeofthespacesaretakenbythesolutefewersolventparticlesareinapositiontoescapeintoth
4、egasphase.Thismeansthatthesolutionsvaporpressureislowerthanthepuresolvent’svaporpressureatalltemperatures.Theboilingpointofasubstanceiswhenthevaporpressureisequaltotheatmosphericpressure.Sincethesolutedecreasesthevaporpressuremoreheatneedstobeaddedforth
