2、nd14,2006,atPortlandStateUniversity(PSU),Portland,OR.TrainingonworkingeffectivelywithtribalgovernmentswasconductedonSeptember12,andpeoplecouldattendaguidedfieldtiptotheColumbiaRiverGorgeonSeptember15.ParticipantsheardreportsonWRP-fundedprojects,memberstateANSefforts,economicissu
3、esrelatedtozebramusselsintheWest,anewlydiscoveredparasite,andthe100thMeridianInitiativewebsite.Twopanelsalsodiscussedissuesrelatingtothebiologycurriculapathwayandspecificeradicationprojects.IntheafternoonofSeptember13,participantscouldattendseveralpresentationsregardingintroduce
4、dspeciesheldjointlywiththePacificNorthwestRegionoftheNorthAmericanLakeManagementSociety.Afterwards,theNativeAmericanStudentandCommunityCenteratPSUhostedasalmonbakeandfeaturedNativeAmericandancing.Decisions·TheWRPapprovedaddingtheUSFSasamemberandacceptingKayWallaceasthenewat-larg
5、ememberrepresentingAlaskaNatives.·JohnWullschleger,LynnSchlueter,JasonGoeckler,andBillieKeranswereelectedtotheExecutiveCommittee.·TwoprojectswerechosenforavailableWRPfundingof$30,000:SaraPelleteri’sexpansionofHabitattitudetotheoutermainHawaiianIslands($13,810,withanaddedevaluati
6、oncomponent)andCatherinedeRivera’sSphaeromaquoianumsurveysandoutreach($14,658,contingentonTimDavidson’senrollmentatPSU).Theremainingamountof$1,532willbedistributedequallybetweenthetwoprojects.·ThenextWRPannualmeetingwillbeheldinHawaiiinmid-September2007.ActionsItems·TinaProctorw
