3、oducts.WeusedChemometrics,theapplicationofstatisticalmethodstochemicaldata,toevaluateseveralparameters,simultaneously,atdifferentlevels(lowandhigh)withinthenormalrangeofdrinkingwatersystemsfortheirindividualandinteractioneffects.Weusedfractionalfactorialdesignstostudyp
4、arametersthataffectdisinfectionbyproduct(DBPs)production.TheresultsshowedthathumicsubstancesandbluegreenalgaecompeteforchlorineinformingDBPs.Theonlyvariablethatwasconsistentlypredictivewaschlorinedose.HighlevelsofDOCfromhumicsoralgaewithhighlevelsofhypochloriteaddedpro
5、ducedthehighestlevelsofTHMs.Sincehypochloritewasthedisinfectantusedinthisstudy,chloroformwastheonlysignificantTHMformed(about99%oftotal).Thealgaecide,EarthTec®,stoppedthegrowthofalgaewithoutincreasingthedissolvedorganiccarbon,thusresultinginlowerDBPproduction.Wealsosho
