2、ble.Recentresearchfromarangeofsourceshasidentifiedspecificissuesrelatingtotheimpactof'movingonup',thephrasecoinedbyProfessorTimBrighouse,DirectorofEducation,CityofBirmingham.Itisessentialthatschoolsshouldmakesurethatpupilprogressionandcurriculumcontinuityareinplaceaspup
3、ilsmoveacrossthephases.Inthiswaytheywillsupportbothhighstandardsofachievementandpupils’enjoymentoftheirtimeinschool.‘TheCambridgeresearchshowsthatmostsecondaryschoolsarenowverygoodatallayinganxietyandsettlingchildrenin;it’stheacademicthreadsthatbreak.’(TheIndependent,22
