3、ndresponsibility.NewtonUnifiedSchoolDistrict#373TransitionCoordinatorEvaluationSystemNon-TenuredStaffApersonnelevaluationsystemshouldbeanintegralpartoftheschoolsystemworkinginconcertwiththe(a)district’smissionstatement,(b)strategicplan,and(c)building-levelmissionstatementsandschoolimprovementplans.T
4、hepersonnelevaluationsystemdoesnotstandinisolationwithinthesystem;italsomustinteractwithandsupportothersystemswithintheschooldistrict.ThePersonnelEvaluationTeamacknowledgesthattheprescribedprocesscouldatfirstappeartobetime-consuming.Theybelievethatinsupportingstaffinprofessionalgrowth,administrators
5、areservingintheallimportantroleofinstructionalleader--trulytheirmostimportantfocus.PurposesofEvaluationandFundamentalBeliefsandPrinciplesMultiplereasonsexistfortheevaluationofschoolpersonnel.USD#373believes,however,thatthemajorpurposesforpersonnelevaluationarethefollowing:•toimprovetheperformanceofe
6、ducators;•topromotetheprofessionalgrowthofeducators;and•toprovideafairandequitablesystemthatusesspecific,documentedinformationuponwhichtomakepersonneldecisions.FundamentalBeliefsandPrinciplesFundamentalbeliefsandprinciplesformthefoundationofthepersonnelevaluationsystem.NewtonUSD#373believesthat:•The
