2、asedblendedlearningcouldfacilitateAsianstudents’participationinclassgroupdiscussionatuniversitiesofEnglish-speakingdevelopedcountries.QualitativeapproachesincludingWeblogcontentanalyses,interviews,andopen-endedquestionsinquestionnairesaswellasquantitativemethodssuchasrecordingWeblog-base
3、dactivitiesandsurveydatawillbeemployed.Formativeevaluationisusedinadjustingthepracticesandsummativeevaluationinexaminingtheresearchresults.ItishopedthatthroughWeblog-basedblendedlearning,Asianstudentscantakegreateradvantageofsuchgroupdiscussion.OverviewAmongthepopulationmovementsintheera
4、ofglobalization,moreandmoreAsiancountriesaresendingtheirexcellentstudentsforfurthereducationindevelopednations,manyofwhichareEnglishspeakingones.StudieshaverevealedthatAsiahasbecomethemajorsenderofforeignstudentstomostofthecountriesthathavethelargestnumberofforeignlearners,suchasUSA,Aust
5、ralia,andUK(Hugo2005).Itishopedthatthroughsuchoverseasexperiences,thosestudentscouldbebetterequippedfortheirfutureleadershipandeffortsinadvancingtheirmotherlands’progresses.Unfortunately,ithasalsobeenrepeatedlyreported(Chen,X.1994;Jones1999;Tatar2005a;Tatar2005b)thatAsianstudentsfaceaser
6、iesofchallengingadaptationissues,amongwhich,academicgroupdiscussioninclassisarousingmoreandmorediscussionaround.ThequestionofhowtohelpthoseAsianstudentsandespecially,howtechnologiescouldjoininsuchaneffortdeserveattentions.Thisresearch,whichbelongstosub-theme2,aimstoexplorehowWeblog-based
7、blendedlearningcouldhelpAsianstudentsovercomethosechallengesandtakegreateradvantageofgroupdiscussions.ItisbelievedthatthisresearchwillnotonlybeofinteresttothoseAsianstudentsspotlighted,butalsotheirinstructorandnon-Asianpeersinthesameclassaswellashostinstitutesenrollingthe
