2、focusesonhowWeblog-basedblendedlearningcouldfacilitateAsianstudents’participationinclassgroupdiscussionatuniversitiesofEnglish-speakingdevelopedcountries.QualitativeapproachesincludingWeblogcontentanalyses,interviews,andopen-endedquestionsinquestionnairesaswellasquant
3、itativemethodssuchasrecordingWeblog-basedactivitiesandsurveydatawillbeemployed.Formativeevaluationisusedinadjustingthepracticesandsummativeevaluationinexaminingtheresearchresults.ItishopedthatthroughWeblog-basedblendedlearning,Asianstudentscantakegreateradvantageofsuc
4、hgroupdiscussion.OverviewAmongthepopulationmovementsintheeraofglobalization,moreandmoreAsiancountriesaresendingtheirexcellentstudentsforfurthereducationindevelopednations,manyofwhichareEnglishspeakingones.StudieshaverevealedthatAsiahasbecomethemajorsenderofforeignstud
5、entstomostofthecountriesthathavethelargestnumberofforeignlearners,suchasUSA,Australia,andUK(Hugo2005).Itishopedthatthroughsuchoverseasexperiences,thosestudentscouldbebetterequippedfortheirfutureleadershipandeffortsinadvancingtheirmotherlands’progresses.Unfortunately,i
6、thasalsobeenrepeatedlyreported(Chen,X.1994;Jones1999;Tatar2005a;Tatar2005b)thatAsianstudentsfaceaseriesofchallengingadaptationissues,amongwhich,academicgroupdiscussioninclassisarousingmoreandmorediscussionaround.ThequestionofhowtohelpthoseAsianstudentsandespecially,ho
7、wtechnologiescouldjoininsuchaneffortdeserveattentions.Thisresearch,whichbelongstosub-theme2,aimstoexplorehowWeblog-basedblendedlearningcouldhelpAsianstudentsovercomethosechallengesandtakegreateradvantageofgroupdiscussions.Itisbelievedthatthisresearchwillnotonlybeofint
