1、InteriorDesignFirst-timeAdrianstudentswithahighschooladjustedcumulativegradepointaverageof3.6orabovemayapplyforadmissiontotheprogram.Collegecoursesforhonorscreditmaybetakenanytimefromthesecondsemesteron,althoughthesophomoreyearisthemostcommontimetotakethesecourses.S
2、tudentsalreadyenrolledatAdrianmayapplytojointheprogram.Theymusthaveachieveda3.5cumulativeaverageatAdrianbythetimetheyapply.Thesequenceofcoursesmaybedifferentforthesestudents.Itispossiblethatsomestudentsmayenrollfirst,withinstructors¡¯permission,inacourseforhonorscre
3、ditandtakeacolloquiumlater,forinstance.Itisalsopossiblethattheystartwithacolloquiuminthesecondsemesterofthefreshmanyearorthefirstsemesterofthesophomoreyear.AnindividualplanwillbedevelopedwithanystudentinterestedinenteringtheHonorsProgram.101.HonorsColloquium(1).Comm
4、onreadingsontopicsofgeneralinterestgenerallyrelatedtomajorcampusconvocationspeakers.Readingsandconvocationprogramswillbeusedasthebasisforthediscussionofsignificantissues.Thecourse,whichmeetsonceaweek,includesopportunitiestodiscussbooksandeventswithfacultymembersando

6、rdirectlyintotheinteriordesignprofession.Studentsdevelopastrongliberalartsbackgroundwithemphasisontheprinciplesofdesignandthehistoryofarchitectureandinteriors,designedtoenablethemtoexpresscreativeconceptsandideas.Theydeveloptechnicaldraftingandrenderingskillsandawor
7、kingknowledgeofbuildingconstruction,mechanicaltechnology,andbusinesspractices.Aportfolioisrequired,selectedfromdesignprojectscompletedinschool,toconfirmproficiencyandindicatethecandidate¡¯saptitudeasaresidentialdesigner,commercialdesigner,kitchenandbathplanner,space
