4、n2014tostudytheeffectsofdirectseeding(DS)andmechanicaltransplanting(MT)onroottraitsofindicahybridricewithanewricerootsampler.Themainresultswereasfollows:1)Withthenewricerootsampler,samplingandstratifiedsamplingcouldbeconductedaccuratelyandconveniently;2)Totalrootlength,rootvolumean
5、dthenumberofroottipsbeforetransplantingandafterrecoveryunderMTandartificialtransplanting(AT)werealllessthanthoseunderDS,whiletherootgrowthrateandrootGshootratiounderMTandATwerehigherthanthoseunderDSintherecoverydate;3)RootsystemunderDSgrewrapidlyintheearlygrowthstagewithalargerroot
6、numberandathinnerroottype,andthenumberofroottipsandrootGshootratiowerelargerthanthoseunderMTandATintheheadingstage;Havingtheadvantageofbackwardness,therootsystemunderMTgrewrapidlyaftertheactivetilleringstage,andthetotalrootlengthandrootvolumewerethelargestintheheadingstage;whileroo
7、tunderMTwasthickerwithasmallernumberandtheleastrootGshootratio.4)RootunderDSandMTdistributedshallowlycomparedwithAT,rootdryweightin0-10cmsoillayerunderDS,MTandATaccountedfor76.9%,76.5%and76.5%,respectively,andtheproportionofrootdryweightin10-20cmsoillayeranddeeperthan20cmsoillayeru
