2、7December2010,ThailandStandardBasedRequirementsforLMSProfileAssessmentAbstract-Oneofthemajorsetbacksraisedbythecontinuallychangingdevelopmentsintechnologysolutionsisthecapacityoftheorganizationstokeepupwiththesechanges.Anupgradeinfeaturesandtheintroductionofadditionalmodulesoftechnologysol
3、utionsdonotnecessitateanimmediateupgradeofanapplication.TheproliferationofLearningManagementSystem(LMS)solutionsbothproprietaryandopensourceraisesagrowingconcernonorganizationsimplementingLMSparticularlyonwhetherexistingLMSsolutionsareoperatingwithinacceptableservicestandardsbothinthepersp
4、ectiveoftheusersandtheindustryperspectives.Thisstudyaimedtoidentifythestandards-basedrequirementswithinwhichanyexistingLMSmaybeassessedusinggapanalysis.Requirementsinclude1)features,2)technicaland3)supportstructure.Resultofsuchcanequipeducationalandtechnologyadministratorsinformeddecisions
5、onupgradeorpurchaseordevelopmentofnewLMSsolutions.Asanapplication,themeasuresdevelopedwasusedintheassessmentofMySLULMS.Thestudyestablishedthatthefeaturesandtechnicalprofilesatisfiedthestandardrequirementsthatwereset.OveralltheLMSdidnotsatisfythestandard-basedrequirementsforsupportstructure
6、.Majorityofthecomponentsofbothsupportstructurecategoriesidentifiedgapsinthecurrentsupportstructureset-upoftheMyClassesLMS.Theresultsofgapanalysiswillnotbepartofthispaper.CategoriesandSubjectDescriptors-ICTinEducation,eLearningKeywords-LearningManagementSystem,LMSfeatures,technicalfeatures,
