3、ol,vendornegotiation,crisismanagement,andoperationalimprove-ments.Asaresult,87%ofCIOsthinktheroleismorechallengingthaninthepast,downapercentagepointfromlastyear.Lookingoutatthethree-tofive-yearhorizon,CIOrespondentsforeseespend-inglesstimeonfunctionalduties—7%comparedto20%currently—an
4、in-dicationthatimprovementsinautomationandagrowingdexteritywiththebi-modalrolewillaffordCIOstheopportunitytoconcentratemorefullyonhigher-value,highvisibilityactivities.Nevertheless,itremainsachallengetohandlebothsetsofresponsibilities,with72%ofrespondentsacknowledgingthestruggletojugg
