2、atismanddawdling.Themarketsystemisheartlessandunforgiving,but,asevenMarxandEngelspointedout,itisuniquelyproductive.Duringitsshortexistence,theGermanleftistsnotedin1848,ithad“accomplishedwondersfarsurpassingEgyptianpyramids,Romanaqueducts,andGothiccathedrals:ithasconductede
3、xpeditionsthatputintheshadeallformerexodusesofnationsandcrusades.”Inthe1970s,theresurrectionoffreemarketeconomicswasbasedlargelyontheargumentthathightaxesandexcessiveregulationwerestiflingtheeconomy.“Bytaxation,byinflation,bytheremorselessfloodofregulationsandlegislation,b
