4、hanicalandofhydrauliccomponents–likeexcavators–aredifficulttosimulate.Usually,twodifferentsimulationenvironmentshavetobecoupled.Thisisofteninconvenient,leadstounnecessarynumericalproblemsandhasfragileinterfaces.InthisarticleitisdemonstratedathandofthemodelofanexcavatorthatModel

5、icaiswellsuitedforthesetypesofsystems.The3-dimensionalcomponentsoftheexcavatoraremodeledwiththenew,freeModelicaMultiBodylibrary.Thisallowsespeciallytouseananalyticsolutionofthekinematicloopatthebucketandtotakethemassesofthehydrauliccylinders,i.e.,the“forceelements”,directlyinto

6、account.Thehydraulicpartismodeledinadetailedway,utilizingpump,valvesandcylindersfromHyLib,ahydraulicslibraryforModelica.Forthecontrolpartageneric“loadsensing”controlsystemisused,modeledbyasetofsimpleequations.Thisapproachgivestherequiredresultsandkeepsthetimeneededforanalyzingt
