4、rauliccomponents–likeexcavators–aredifficulttosimulate.Usually,twodifferentsimulationenvironmentshavetobecoupled.Thisisofteninconvenient,leadstounnecessarynumericalproblemsandhasfragileinterfaces.InthisarticleitisdemonstratedathandofthemodelofanexcavatorthatModelicaiswellsuitedforth

5、esetypesofsystems.The3-dimensionalcomponentsoftheexcavatoraremodeledwiththenew,freeModelicaMultiBodylibrary.Thisallowsespeciallytouseananalyticsolutionofthekinematicloopatthebucketandtotakethemassesofthehydrauliccylinders,i.e.,the“forceelements”,directlyintoaccount.Thehydraulicparti

6、smodeledinadetailedway,utilizingpump,valvesandcylindersfromHyLib,ahydraulicslibraryforModelica.Forthecontrolpartageneric“loadsensing”controlsystemisused,modeledbyasetofsimpleequations.Thisapproachgivestherequiredresultsandkeepsthetimeneededforanalyzingtheproblemonareasonablelevel.2.
