3、yofthetropicalscenery.Freneauwasneoclassicalbytrainingandtasteyetromanticinessentialspirit.Hewasalsoatonceasatiristandasentimentalist,ahumanitarianbutalsoabitterpolemicist,apoetofReasonyetthecelebrantof"lovelyFancy",andadeisticoptimistinspiredbythemesofdeathandtransience.Hewasreg
4、ardedasapoetofAmericanRevolution,thefatherofAmericanpoetry,thepioneerofthenewromanticismandagiftedandversatilelyricpoet.thewildhoneysuckleisPhilipFreneau'smostfamousnaturalpoemwiththethemeoftransience.Theshortlyricwaswrittenin1786.Freneauwasinspiredbythebeautyofthewildhoneysuckle
