2、otherchemicalsareconsideredasaworryingprobleminthedrinkingwatertreatmentprocesssinceaseriesofmutageniccarcinogensubstancesareformedincludingtrihalomethanes(THMs).Amongthetesteddisinfectants(chlorine,ozone,chlorinedioxide,potassiumpermanganate,chloramin
3、esandhydrogenperoxideetc.),chlorinedioxidehasprovedtobethemostfeasibleandeffectiveoxidantfordrinkingwatertreatmentandremovalofpathogensduetoitsoxidationefficiency,lowcostandsimplewayofutilization.Aseriesofexperimentsindicatethatchlorinedioxidecansignif
4、icantlyrestrainproductionoftrihalomethanes(THMs)andcontrolbacteriagrowthparticularlyforCryptosporidiumoocysts.Theexperimentsverifiedthatbothozoneandchlorinedioxideareabsolutelyvitaltoensurethtionofwaterstoragearedestroyed.Thepaperdiscussesoxidationcapa
