9、mmentsandadjusttheproposalsand/orsupportingrationaleastheauthordeterminestobeappropriate.ThepreliminaryreviewprocessisaninformalmechanismthatprovidesauthorswiththeopportunitytorefinetheirproposalsbeforetheyadvancetothenextstageinUL’sstandardsdevelopmentprocess.Insomecases,theauthorof
10、theproposalsmaychoosetodiscontinuethem.Inthiscase,theauthorneednotdoanythingafterpreliminaryreviewhasended.Normally,thenextstepintheprocessisthemoreformalSTPballotandstakeholderreviewprocess.OnlycommentspostedduringtheSTPballotandstakeholderreviewprocesswillbeprovidedwitharesponsein
